God’s Word: The Only Sword Of The Spirit

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God
The body of Christ has weapons with which to stand the test of time, each with a specific function to the believer in Christ.
Over the years there have been various belief systems in the church differing from one another.
In the midst of all these, the word of God should be our guide.
I have seen inscriptions, which state that some material elements made with hands are weapons and that there is no sword like such.
This makes me wonder, where these people got that from. As the Bible clearly states in Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”
God’s word is the only sword of the Spirit. Man-made items can never be a spiritual sword. The Word of God is Spirit – John 6:63
” It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
God’s word is Spirit, it is God Himself, so when you know this and speak it forth with understanding, it works wonders. You don’t need any material element to live a successful Christian Life. God’s word is more than enough.
“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” Colossians 2:8.
Christians should beware of false teachings, that may look back or sound pious and religious but completely away from the doctrine of Christ.
Always use God’s word as your guide, and reject any teaching that contradicts the teachings of Christ and the apostles.
Life is spiritual and all of God’s creation are spiritual, don’t accept material elements as a means of worship. Such material elements are completely useless in Christian worship.
Christians don’t depend on material items for worship. Our worship is spiritual and it is between us and God (1 John 1:3-4). With our hearts fixed on God and His Word, we commune with Him without any material aid.
” That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.” 1 John 1:3-4.
The use of material elements may look or sound religious but they are void of God’s power. It is only God’s word that has the power to communicate God’s mind to the Christian.
I know someone reading this message would be asking “if this is true,why did the Bible say Paul’s’ handkerchief and apron healed the sick?”.
That God honoured the faith of those believers through the use of those materials doesn’t mean we should replace God’s word with things made with hands.
Most Christians today , religiously put their faith I material things through they can commune with God. These are lies from the pit of hell.
If you have been putting your faith in material elements as a weapon, you need to start studying God’s Word to learn how to depend on God in prayer and not material things.
Time will fail me to talk about material things used in worship, but I will just say a few things about Christianity and Judaism.
Now, from the Bible, we understand that the Jews practice Judaism, which is in line with the law of Moses. They used material things to worship God and offer sacrifices but those things are shadows of the real, which is Christ Jesus.
The coming of Jesus Christ has abolished the worship of God based on material elements. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit always came upon those whom God gave specific tasks, but in the New Testament, the Holy Spirit indwells those who are born again.
The Christian does not need any material elements for spiritual worship. The Bible in Ephesians 1:19 says, ” And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,”
Another verse in scripture says we are one spirit with God 1 Corinthians 6:17.
Acts 1:8 also says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
The day you became born again, you received the Holy Spirit into your spirit and you became one with God. So you now have all of God’s power in you.
It is therefore important for every believer to spend time to study about God and their relationship with God, so they will not be victims of deceit and lies from the pit of hell.
Just like the people of Jesus’ days, who established their righteousness, some people today just wake up and come up with some lies to detail people from the truth and simplicity of the Gospel.
Unfortunately, a lot of Christians believe those lies – hook, line, and sinker. Christianity is spiritual, it is more than religion, it is a relationship between God almighty and man, it is the Life of God in man, not a religion with material worship.
If you have been in a place where you have been made to believe lies, with the use of material elements, now that you know that God’s word is the only sword of the Spirit, would you like to change your method of worship with material things and worship God in Spirit and truth?

Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for Your son Jesus, I believe He died for me, I believe You raised Him from death, and I confess Him as my Lord and Saviour. Holy Spirit, come into my heart, dwell in me, walk in me, talk through me, and live through me. Thank you, Lord, for saving me in Jesus’ name… Amen.
