It Is Like Pouring Live Coals on Dead Ones
When you pour live coals on dead ones, in a few minutes the life in them begins to give life to the dead coals. You’ll discover that as you keep fanning the coals, you can no longer differentiate the live coals from the dead ones because all the dead coals would have received life from the live coals.
Just as you fan the coals until they become one, Christians are to fan their relationship with God through personal study, meditation on the Word of God, and prayer.
The more you sit at His feet to learn from Him and seek Him daily in prayer, the more you become like Him.
An Infusion of God’s Spirit with Man’s Spirit
Often we speed-read the Bible, close it, say a short prayer and zoom off to work and business. God expects us to meditate on, ponder over, visualize what we read, and appropriate it to ourselves. But we are too busy to pay attention to the word.
God’s Word is God Himself. So, it is important to meditate on it for revelational knowledge through the help of the Holy Spirit.
If you sit at His feet to learn from Him and seek Him daily in prayer, you will become more and more like Him.
Let’s see what 2 Corinthians 3:18 says. “And we all, with unveiled faces beholding as in a mirror the glory, of the Lord are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
Our Fellowship is with the Father and His Son
It is not enough to become a Christian, there is more to Christianity than we can imagine.
Intimate fellowship with God is vital, as it is the only way to grow and become more and more like Him.

As the dead coals gradually receive life from the live coals as you fan them, till they all receive life. That is how we all receive life through personal intimate fellowship with God. Till we come to the full stature of Christ.
How Are We United with God?
According to 1 Cor. 6:17 – He who is united with God is one spirit What does united in this verse mean?
It means to be joined together, to be in harmony or to be in oneness.
“One spirit”, in the concluding part of that phrase means we have become one with Him.
Let’s visualize what it means to be one or to be joined as one. God is Spirit and man is spiritual. So when you confess Jesus as Lord, the Spirit of God comes into your spirit and both spirits become one spirit. It means everyone who receives Jesus Christ has only one spirit – an infusion of God’s Spirit and your human spirit.
We Have Become One with God
Just like the analogy I gave at the beginning of this message about the live and the dead coals.
That is exactly what happens when we accept the salvation of Christ. But we must fan our relationship with Him, to become more like Him and manifest His power.
We were dead in trespasses and sins but God in His love made us alive in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:4 & 5
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. “
All of humanity is like the dead coals which can only come alive by accepting what God has done in Christ Jesus.
Everyone who accepts the salvation God offers in Jesus Christ comes alive and the dead nature is replaced with a new indestructible life just like what happens with dead coals when they come in contact with live coals.

Understand and Become Conscious of This Union
However, there are lots of Christians who do not understand what this union means. So they still allow the forces and elements of this world to determine what happens to them in life.
.
If you believe in Jesus, you are no longer the person born from your mother’s womb. That person died when Jesus died and you received a new life when Jesus was raised from the dead.
Now that you are born again, you have a completely new life. But there is more to being born again that many of us don’t understand.
You came alive when the Spirit of God came into your spirit. You are now one with God. Just as you cannot differentiate the dead coals from the life coals, Your spirit and God’s spirit cannot be separated. You have become one with God, so what cannot happen to God should not happen to you.
Let’s look at some synonyms for united, we have harmony and oneness. Harmony in music is so beautiful that all the parts resonate into one beautiful sound.
There can be no discord with God in your spirit because when you acknowledge your union with Him and become conscious of the reality, He keeps your spirit alive continually as you fellowship with Him daily. You will experience an upward and forward movement in every area of your life.
So become conscious of this truth and align your thoughts with His through the Word.
Your union with God is enough to keep away every form of discord from your life.
I’m sure you know that flies don’t perch on live coals so, anything inconsistent with God can not come to your dwelling.
Get Rid of the Wrong Thoughts and Assumptions
All errors must be ridden from your thoughts because “as a man thinketh in his heart so is he’.
No wonder, the apostle Paul said in Romans 12: 2 to renew our minds. Until you renew your mind with the Word of God you will never enjoy true Christianity.
Consequently, if you continue to use the Word of God to build your new spirit which is now an infusion of God’s Spirit and your spirit, that life in your spirit begins to affect your body and you will realize that your body becomes inundated with that life in your spirit.
The consciousness of this very life you received at your new birth enables you to live above the elements of this world.
This union with Christ is not a religious exercise, it is an infusion of the Spirit of God into your spirit. Which in turn brings about a manifestation of the God-man
Understand this truth, live with this awareness and see a tremendous transformation in your life.
Conclusion
If you have not made Jesus the Lord of your life, It doesn’t matter the stage you are in life right now. It doesn’t matter, the wrong things you’ve done in the past. His Love covers a multitude of sins, so you don’t need to do anything on your part. Just come to Him and call Him “Father”, tell Him to help you to know Him and He will reveal Himself to you.
Say this prayer of salvation:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your love for me. I believe in my heart that Jesus died for me. I believe that you raised Him from the dead and that He is alive forever. I confess Him as my Lord and Savior. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and dwell in me. Thank you, Lord, for saving me in Jesus’ name…. Amen.
