Stop Being Conscious of the Devil
Does God have a rival? Is there an opposite of God? Or do I say is the opposite of God Satan? Well, stop being conscious of the devil is the topic of discussion in this very post.
There is something about the body of Christ – the Church that gives me concern. Some people came up with this doctrine of Satan’s consciousness that a good number of believers have bought into it.
It is a trend in the body of Christ today that is so prevalent. It has become a norm, so much so that, even toddlers are made to believe that Satan the devil is so powerful that they have to target their prayers at him each time they want to pray.
I remember watching a video on my phone a few years ago where a toddler was seriously praying, and the entire prayer was focused on Satan.
We have made our little children believe that Satan is so powerful, so they should always look out for him. This is the wrong training for our children who are supposed to be the leaders of the church of tomorrow.
It’s high time we stopped being conscious of the devil and taught our children to become conscious of God rather than the devil.
Why You Should Stop Being Conscious of the Devil
The scriptures in 1 John 3:8, says “…for this purpose was the son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil”. Jesus the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
If you ask me, did Jesus destroy the works of the devil? The answer is a capital YES.
In Colossians 2:15 it is written, “And having spoilt principalities and powers, He made a public show of them triumphing over them in it.”
The Revelation of John in verse 18 of chapter 1
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Looking at the scripture verses above, you’ll realize that Satan is a defeated foe, Jesus has the keys of death and hell. Satan doesn’t have the power to kill a Christian, but many Christians are ignorant of this truth, so they keep glorifying Satan. The scriptures also say in John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
Until you believe and understand that Satan has been defeated in your life, you will not be free from his bondage. He will keep you under the bondage of his fear and consciousness. Therefore, you need to stop being conscious of the devil.
Become Conscious of God
As a Christian, it is important to be conscious of the Christ that is in and with you. Christ in you is the essence of Christianity and until you have this understanding in your spirit, you will live like a non-Christian.
Christ in you is the present truth. Yes! It is the glorious life. With Christ in you, you manifest God’s glory everywhere.
Colossians 12:26-27 says, “the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Have you ever taken time to ponder over what this means? God’s word is Spirit and Life.
It pays to believe His word and act on it. You don’t just read the Word of God like every other book and expect to get the results like those that were here before us.
The prophets kings and apostles of old manifested a lot of God’s power even when God didn’t dwell permanently in them by His Spirit. He was always coming upon them for the work assigned to them.
If they manifested so much power then, how much more would God manifest Himself in you now that He is in you by His Spirit?
The phrase “Christ in you the hope of glory is not for the future but a present-day reality. Paul by the Holy Spirit was telling the new believers in Christ about the mystery which was hidden for ages but now is made manifest. It is the present truth.
Now let’s see what the Bible says in John 17:22 “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:”
This is mind blowing! The Lord Jesus has given us His glory, the same glory that God gave to Him. So stop limiting yourself by glorifying Satan in your life. Learn to magnify God always by being conscious of God. Start seeing yourself the way God sees you – His glory.
You are reflecting God’s glory now, not when you get to heaven.
Let’s see 2 Corinthians 3:18 as I conclude this message, “So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.”
Therefore, stop being conscious of the devil. Become more and more conscious of God, because that is the only way to live a victorious Christian life.
