Spiritual li,ving Discovering God’s Will for Your Life in Christ

Text: Ephesians 2:10
” For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Have you discovered God’s will for your life? This is one of the most important questions every believer must answer in order to

live a fulfilled and purposeful life on earth. Many people live on their own terms and leave this world without ever understanding why they were created. Yet, the Bible clearly teaches that we are not here by accident. God has a divine plan for every person, and true fulfillment comes only when we discover and walk in His will. In this article, you will learn how to understand God’s purpose for your life and how to align yourself with His plan through His Word, prayer, and intimacy with Him.

Discover God’s will for your life and understand your purpose in Christ. Learn how prayer, God’s Word, and intimacy with Him lead to true fulfillment.

God Has a Purpose for Everyone

God has mapped out a unique plan for every individual on earth. Without discovering God’s will for your life, you cannot truly fulfill your purpose. You may be busy, successful, or religious, yet still live an unfulfilled life.

None of us negotiated with God before coming to earth. He chose to send us here for a reason—and that reason is connected to His purpose.

The Bible says:

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
— Revelation 4:11

God’s purpose for all creation is clearly stated: for His pleasure.
It is therefore important to discover God’s plan for your life and commit yourself to fulfilling it.

Why Many People Feel Unfulfilled

I may not know the stage you are in life as you read this message, but I know one thing for sure—God has good plans for you. However, until you discover His will, true fulfillment will remain elusive.

You may have tried many things—education, career, relationships, religion—yet still feel an emptiness in your heart. That void is often a sign that there is more God wants to do in you and through you.

Our opening scripture reminds us that we are created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God prepared beforehand for us to walk in.

How to Know God’s Will for Your Life

God’s plan for one person is not the same for another. What He has planned for Brother Ben may not be what He has planned for you.

So how do you discover God’s will for your life personally?

The answer is found in the Word of God and prayer.

You must spend time daily in God’s presence, seeking Him and learning from Him.

Jesus said:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden… and learn of me.”
— Matthew 11:28–30

He is always ready to teach those who are willing to learn from Him.

Find Your Place in the Church

You may belong to a particular Christian denomination and yet feel dissatisfied. Deep within you, you sense that there is more to Christianity than simply attending church services.

What you need is a personal and intimate walk with God.

This intimacy with Him will open your eyes to what He wants you to do—both in your local church and wherever you find yourself: your office, business, or community. God sent you there for a purpose.

Do not be a benchwarmer. Earnestly seek God concerning His will for your life.

Seek God’s Kingdom First

Jesus said:

” “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
— Matthew 6:33

Today, many Christians run from place to place seeking prophecies, miracles, and deliverance. But you cannot discover God’s will by chasing manifestations. You discover it by seeking God Himself.

What You Seek Outside Is Within You

When you received Christ, the power of God was deposited inside you through the Holy Spirit. He made you one with God.

You must acknowledge that power and allow it to function fully in your life. God lives in you so that you can impact your generation.

Practical Steps to Discover God’s Will

1. Choose a Dedicated Time for God

Set aside a time that is convenient for you to meet with God daily. Tell Him your intention and be disciplined with that time. Set an alarm if necessary.

Do not keep Him waiting. If you wouldn’t keep a friend waiting, you shouldn’t keep God waiting either.

2. Come Prepared and Focused

Put everything else aside. Take your Bible, a pen, and a notebook. When you come before Him, tell Him you want to know Him—not to ask for things, but to know His heart and His will.

This is very important: do not come asking for personal needs—come seeking Him.

A Call to Salvation

Before I conclude, if you are not born again, you must first receive Christ. This is what qualifies you to walk in God’s will.

Pray this prayer sincerely:

Prayer of Salvation

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for your son Jesus, I believe He died for me, I believe You raised Him from death, I confess Him as my Lord and Saviour. Holy Spirit, come into my heart, dwell in me, walk in me, talk through me and live through me. Thank you, Lord for saving me in Jesus’ name… Amen.
