Where Your Treasure Is, There Will Your Heart (Thoughts) Be.
Text: Matt. 6:21, Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Psalm 37:4-5
The choice you make determines your outcome in life. If you choose to look at life carnally, it will only produce carnality for you.
What this means is, when your heart is fixed on the physical environment you see, and the material things around you, you will end up with nothing. All of your thoughts will be on material things that profit nothing – John 6:63.
The World Or Soul
The Bible says, “What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose own his soul? Or what shall he give in exchange for his soul?” – Mark 8:36-37.
The spiritual world is more real than the physical world. Yes, the spiritual controls the physical. If all your life’s ambitions and desires are fixed in this material world, you will miss God’s perfect will for your life.
Renew Your Mind
The Bible in Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
To know and do God’s perfect will for you, your mind must be renewed. You need to start seeing life as spiritual and not just the physical world you are seeing. Life is spiritual, and the earlier you come to terms with this truth, the better your life will become. God had a plan for man, even before he made the world.
You can only know God’s plan for you when you discover His will and purpose for you. His plan and purpose will not be revealed to you until you acknowledge His place in your life.
Stop laying treasures on earth that will rot and rust away. Make up your mind to find out about God and His will for you and put your heart and mind into fulfilling it
The challenges people face in life are based on the choices they make in life. Ignorant of the spiritual world, people tend to take the physical world they see with their optical eyes as more important than God, who is the unseen reality. As a result, they end up without fulfilling their God-given destiny.
In Genesis 1: 1-31, the Bible says that God created the heavens and the earth and everything in it. But you’l find out that it was in chapter 2 that all of creation manifested in the physical.
Even when God created man (male and female), the scriptures say He spoke and created man in His image and likeness.
What is God’s image like? God’s image is spirit, and His likeness is everything that He is.
Now the man that was created in the image and likeness of God never had a physical body, just as the heavens and the earth never appeared in the physical, they were not visible to the optical eyes. Yet, the scriptures says God saw everything He created in chapter one of Genesis and He said it was very good (Genesis 1:31). You’ll discover that, He saw them in the spiritual till He began to call them forth to appear physically.
This is also true of everything in life. As God’s image and likeness, until you begin to acknowledge life as spiritual, you will never fulfill your life’s purpose. You need to see as God sees, with your spiritual eyes.
God is life, He is the soul of man (Gen 2:7). Without God in your life, you are as good as dead. You may be walking around, but you are a walking corpse until you recognize God as your All in all.
As you read this message, I may not know the situation in your life now. But I have this feeling that you need the help of the God who created you. Perhaps, you are in a situation that you are not able to overcome. What you need is Jesus. He is the only solution to becoming the person God has ordained for you to be.
Life is spiritual, and the choices you make will determine your outcome. Where is your heart? Is it on the material things? Or on God and His kingdom.
Remember, where your treasure is, there will your thoughts (heart) be. Fix your eyes on God who created you for His pleasure and you will never be found wanting. You only struggle endlessly, when you live without God. Make up your mind to trust God with all that concerns you and see His loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness, manifest in your life.
Now what? Are you willing to fix your gaze on the spiritual? Our Lord Jesus said, “if your eye is single, your body will be full of light. This means when your eyes are fixed on God – Spirit, you will experience eternal life in all areas of your life.
The reason is this, when you understand your spiritual nature, that knowledge affects your thoughts, actions, and everything about you. You start seeing things the way God sees them. No longer will you be at the mercy of physical circumstances.
Delight Yourself In The Lord
Fix your gaze on God and His son Jesus and see your life experience a flood of light.
Let’s look at another very important scripture that will help us understand more of what we are discussing today.
Psalms 37:4 -5 “Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
Perhaps you believe in Jesus but you have put your heart on material things, , you can make up your mind to change your way of thinking. Start seeing the way God sees Give more attention to spiritual things, so you can experience the spiritual way of living.
For you that is reading this message but don’t have a relationship with God, you can invite Him into your life, so that you too can experience the God-Life on Earth. Yes, you can live that life here on Earth, you can be who God ordained you to be. All you need is to believe what God accomplished for you in Jesus Christ by saying this prayer of salvation.
Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for Your son Jesus, I believe He died for me, I believe You raised Him from death, and I confess Him as my Lord and Saviour. Holy Spirit, come into my heart, dwell in me, walk in me, talk through me, and live through me. Thank you Lord, for saving me in Jesus’ name… Amen.
