In the first part of this series – why believe in Jesus, we saw that the birth, life, and teachings of Jesus Christ were divine and unlike any other religious leader.
In this second part, we will go deeper into why we should believe in Jesus—His divine death, resurrection, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies, and the reality that the whole Bible is about Jesus Christ.
Why Believe in Jesus? His Death Was Divine
David prophesied of the Messiah in Psalm 34:20 (KJV): “He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.”
This was fulfilled in the New Testament. When Jesus was crucified, the soldiers broke the legs of the two thieves to hasten their death before the Sabbath, but when they came to Jesus, they saw He was already dead. John 19:36 (KJV) records: “For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.”
Before giving up His spirit, Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit” (Luke 23:46 KJV). As soon as He died, the earth quaked, and the temple curtain tore from top to bottom. This signified that through Jesus Christ, every believer now has direct access to God.
Why Believe in Jesus? His Resurrection Was Divine
Jesus was buried, and the governor sealed His tomb with soldiers to prevent anyone from stealing His body. Yet, on the third day, He rose again. No effort of man could stop the power of God.
The tomb of Jesus is still empty today, and this sets Jesus apart from every other religious leader. The bones of all known religious leaders are still in their graves. They all died, were buried and are still buried till date. None of the resurrected from death except Jesus. Buddha, Mohamed, Confucius and Jesus are some of the religious leaders known in the History of this world but only Jesus is not in His grave. He is the only one that resurrected and ascended to heaven. All other religious leaders remain in their graves, but Jesus Christ is alive forevermore.
Death could not hold Him. He is the only one who rose again by His own power, proving He is Lord over life and death. This is why we believe in Jesus—because His resurrection confirms that He is the Savior of the world.

Why Believe in Jesus? The Whole Bible Is About Christ
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reveals Jesus Christ. Every shadow, prophecy, and promise in the Old Testament finds fulfillment in Him.
The Seed of the Woman
In Genesis 3:15, God said the seed of the woman would bruise the serpent’s head. This was fulfilled when Jesus, born of a virgin, defeated Satan through His death and resurrection.
The Passover Lamb – In Exodus 12, God commanded the Israelites to sacrifice a lamb without blemish, not breaking any of its bones. This pointed directly to Jesus, the Lamb of God, whose bones were not broken at His crucifixion.
The Rock in the Wilderness – In Exodus 17, water flowed from the rock Moses struck, giving life to Israel. 1 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV) reveals the mystery: “And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” Just as the rock was smitten, Christ was struck for our sins, and from Him flows the water of eternal life.
The Brazen Serpent – In Numbers 21, those bitten by serpents looked at the brazen serpent on the pole and lived. Jesus confirmed in John 3:14-15 (KJV): “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”
The Prophecy of Isaiah – In Isaiah 7:14 (KJV), the virgin birth of Jesus was foretold: “Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
From beginning to end, the Bible points to Jesus Christ. He is the fulfillment of the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms.
Why Believe in Jesus? He Is the Only Way of Salvation
Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6 (KJV): “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
No other religious leader made such a claim. While others pointed the way, Jesus declared that He is the Way. He is the only mediator between God and man. His death and resurrection provided eternal salvation, and only those who believe in Him will escape the coming judgment.
Why Believe in Jesus? Final Thoughts
The answer is clear: We believe in Jesus because He is the Son of God, the fulfillment of prophecy, the Lamb who was slain, the Rock in the wilderness, and the risen Savior who conquered death.
The whole Bible is about Him, and without Him, there is no salvation. Believing in Jesus is not just an option—it is the only way to eternal life.
Prayer of Salvation

“Dear heavenly Father, thank You for Your Son Jesus. I believe He died for me, and I believe You raised Him from the dead. I confess Him as my Lord and Saviour. I believe You raised Him for my justification. Holy Spirit, come into my heart, dwell in me, walk in me, talk in me, and live through me. Thank You, Lord, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
